Sunday pm
Another wonderful day in HCMC - weather beautiful, streets are not too busy and lots of interesting stuff happening. We slept in and then went up to the main part of town - things have changed - wonderful old french colonial buildings being torn down and replaced with concrete monsters. However, there are still the wonderful old opera house, continental hotel and Rex hotel. Our group had lunch in the garden restaurant at the continental but it was like watching an old movie. The waiter would come and we would ask him if we could order lunch (all 30 odd of us). He would run away and then reappear and again we would ask him and again he would run away.... after about 5 attempts we finally got him to understand - yes we wanted lunch....
Team meeting this evening - 40 odd women and 1 man all dressed in yellow shirts - a gaggle of Canaries really. The team photo out the front of the hotel under the banner they put up "Welcome to the AVVRG education team 2012". So begins 5 days of education, laughs and smiles.
