Well I have competed my lectures at the 2 children's hospitals - very successful. We go back to Children's 1 tomorrow to visit the NICU on the invitation of the lovely neonatologist  who translated for us. He remembers Paul and we are tryhing to convince him to apply to come to Australia on a scholarship the University of Sydney gives to Vietnamese Dr's. We went to dinner at a lovely French cafe which is situated in the French Language Centre. YOu sit in a wonderful garden with pepples underfoot, with lights in the trees. It is one of the more expensive restaurants here in HCMC but at $12 a head one can not complain. We took one of our intrepreters who is not with us this year but has done it for the last three years. She is about to start a new job being a PA to a female CEO of a company. This woman is also the face of Vietnam tourism and is/was a famous vietnamese actor. Chou is the up and coming generation she has a great heart but a wise head so I think she will go far. As with everything HCMC is changing every second. I was here 20 years ago and the place is unrecognisable - this city now has modern department stores, supermarkets and hotels that you would see anywhere in the world - it is loosing its uniqueness and that is sad. It could be Bangkok, KL or HOng Kong really so if you want to see any of the old vietnam now is the time to come.
